If you have any last minute holiday shopping for the beauty lover on your list, I highly recommend you pick this one up! This really is a set that you fall in love with once you start using it. I like that there is a nice mixture of shimmer and matte finishes and there is certainly a nice color range. This palette conveniently breaks it up for you with Natural, Smoky, Bold and Chic shadows laid out for you. The shade selection definitely allows you to create a wide variety of looks.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Studio case is a selection of 12 gorgeous artist shadows that comes packaged in a small train case along with a full size eyeliner. This retails for $59.50 but is a $93 value. Even better, this is on sale right now at Sephora for $39.

What it does:
Amp up your holiday look when you add drama with this Studio Case’s vivid color. This limited-edition palette features 12 Artists Shadows in the same great formula as the full size, infused with an innovative formula that provides both superior color pay-off and smooth blendability. The shadows are arranged in complementary trios as a guide for creating four specific eye looks: The everyday Natural, sultry Smoky, daring Bold, and sophisticated Chic. Top off your eye looks with the rich black Artist Liner, perfect for precisely lining and defining, and the step-by-step guide helps you to create each signature look—all housed in a reusable signature makeup kit.

This set contains:
- 12 x 0.024 oz Artist Shadows in Natural (M-530, S-516, I-544), Smoky (M-122, ME-108, M-100), Bold (D-236, D-926, I-218), Chic (I-524, D-826, ME-828)
- 0.01 oz Artist Liner in Matte Black (M-10)
- Step-by-step guide

My final thoughts:
I really love how easy this palette is to use. More recently I've been gravitating to neutrals and this palette definitely satisfies that while giving me some nice pops of color. I love creating a look using S-516 and I-533 or D-826 and ME-828 and then adding in some color in the outer crease with one of the bolder color selections. This also comes with a black eyeliner which is easy to use with it's fine point and creamy formulation.

I think the packaging and train case is either going to be a hit or miss for people depending on their individual preferences. This certainly is a nice travel sized option with room underneath the shadows to pack the rest of your makeup. People who travel less or have less storage space may prefer to have had just a traditional palette. The eyeshadows do come out of the train case, there just is no cover for them besides the actual case. So although they are portable, they wouldn't be travel or storage friendly without keeping them in the case unless you want to depot them.

I really think you need to use this set to fall in love with it. I love the formulation of these shadows. They are super easy to work with. I found all of them to be creamy, buildable and easy to blend. I have been wanting to try the new artist shadows and so this was the perfect introduction for me. If you've also been curious or just wanted to test out even more shades, I definitely recommend picking this up! Hurry though because it is limited edition!
