Tarte's Timeless Smoothing Primer

I definitely notice that as I get older, I put more and more of a focus on skin care and products which can help and hide the early signs of aging. I find a less is more approach works better and I find myself more drawn to simple makeup that creates a natural and healthy finish. One of the products I've been reaching for a lot lately to accomplish that kind of look is Tart'es Timeless Smoothing Primer.

Press Sample. All opinions are my own.
I'm kind of a primer junkie and I've tried countless primers. A few years ago I didn't even know what a primer was or why you should use it, but now it is a daily step in my makeup routine that can't be miss. Basically a primer is a base for you foundation. It can smooth out your skin and any imperfections and also make your foundation last longer.

About:
A melt-in smoothing primer with innovative blurring and filling technology for a youthful appearance perfectly primed for makeup application. Gently melts into the skin delivering a surge of moisture, peptides and other naturally-derived elixirs for a firmer, smoother appearance. You’ll love the lightweight texture and fresh powder scent as it provides the perfect blank canvas to enhance the look and wear time of makeup. Contains Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Green Bean Extract and Mineral Pigments. Retails $39 for .5 fl ounces.

My thoughts:
Overall I really like this product. I notice the biggest difference in some fine lines I have on my forehead. When I apply this primer to that area, I can visibly see the lines being filled in thus becoming less noticeable. The other big thing I notice with this product it that my skin is so absolutely smooth after. I just love the silky feeling this leaves me with. This also provided a nice canvas to apply my makeup over. I usually use Tarte's colored clay CC Primer with a DHC Skincare pressed powder over. I did notice my makeup wore well with this primer but not noticeably different than other primers. Although this is a large jar of product, it does come at a $39 price tag. I prefer primers in bottles that I can squeeze the product out. I tend to overuse products otherwise and have found that you don't need a lot of this product to cover your skin.

Check out my reviews of Tarte's Colored Clay products. If you're looking to purchase just one or two (or a few!) items from Tarte this fall, I would first pick up the colored clay tinted brow gel, colored clay cc undereye corrector and the rainforest palette. Which Tarte product are you in love with for fall?
