Tarte CC Colored Clay {Review}

Press samples
Tarte cosmetics has recently come out with some new colored clay products and I couldn't be more excited! I knew I already loved the colored clay cc primer which I use daily and so I was excited to get to test out some more colored clay products! Tarte uses colored clay found deep in Brazil and sustainably harvests it to use it in their products. Colored clay has different benefits depending on the color, but you can expect anti-aging, hydration, oil control and anti-inflamatory properties. So far, I am definitely not disappointed with the colored clay line and highly recommend you check some of these products out. Keep reading below for product descriptions and my thoughts!

Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector, $24
A multitasking, full coverage CC that supports the coverage of undereye discolorations & dark circles.

About: Create a flawless complexion with this revolutionary skin corrector. Naturally-derived light-diffusing particles work to revitalize and brighten the delicate skin under the eyes, while color-correcting colored clay helps to offset the look of dark circles and discoloration. This nutrient-rich formula hydrates, conditions, and smoothes skin—for an instantly bright-eyed, younger-looking complexion in universal shades. Available in light medium and medium tan shades.

My thoughts: I've definitely used a lot of concealers and under eye concealers/correctors in my time and yet this product really did impress me. My shade is light medium and I thought it would be a little too dark for my very fair skin. However, when I apply it to my skin it blends in evenly and flawlessly. Tarte cosmetics has that special and unique factor of making you feel like this product was made specifically with you in mind. I not only use this in the undereye area for a quick pick me up, but I also use it as a general concealer. I immediately notice a difference in discoloration being minimized. This provides medium lightweight coverage which also works really well on blemishes.

Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick
A 12-hour wear, universal eye primer infused with lid-nourishing and color-correcting colored clay.

About: Tarte’s innovative, waterproof CC eye primer stick works on all skin types to color-correct the skin around eyes. Infused with color-correcting and skin-nourishing colored clay, this smoothing eye primer absorbs excess oil on the lids, offering a neutral base for the perfect eye shadow application. The lightweight formula addresses appearance of redness and discoloration, balancing the skin and instantly brightening the delicate eyelid area. This easy-glide, neutral pencil tip preps lids prior to makeup application for better wear and truer shadow payoff that can last for up to 12 hours. Vegan.

My thoughts: This was really easy to use because of the stick form. The product was easily applied to my lids and was easy to blend. This worked well on it's own just to even out my lids and minimize any imperfections if you wanted to just wear this alone. I used this as a primer for the rainforest after dark palette which I will be reviewing in full shortly. I did notice some fading and very minor creasing by the very end of the day, but for the most part, I thought this held up really well as a primer.

Colored Clay Tinted Brow Gel, $21
A tinted brow gel with colored clay that enhances, defines, and shapes brows.

About: Let arches stand out with Tarte’s tinted brow gel, designed to deliver the perfect amount of pigment and hold for a professionally-groomed brow look that lasts. The wand applicator features tiny, hair-like bristles to create precise, filled-in brows. Infused with colored clay and an exclusive peptide blend, the waterproof gel formula naturally conditions and smooths the brows, reducing surface oil to lock in pigment for up to 12 hours. Vegan. Available in taupe, medium brown and rich brown shades.

My thoughts: I think I've used this every single day since I got this. I love the easy to use wand with the small brush on the end. The color I thought may be a little too light for me (medium brown), but when applied, it does seem to blend in pretty naturally. I've been doing some really simple makeup routines in the morning before work, but I've noticed that filling in my brows with this gel immediately makes me look more awake and put together. Absolutely in love with this and I can see this being a repurchase for me for sure as it has knocked my last favorite brow product down a peg.

Tarte Colored Clay CC Primer, $34
A revolutionary complexion corrector.

About: Buff your way to complexion perfection with this revolutionary correcting stick. Infused with Tarte's new color-correcting Amazonian colored clay, this powerful, skinvigorating™ primer blends easily to help brighten skin, even skintone, blur imperfections, and neutralize redness and discoloration. Use this multitasking corrector before foundation as a color-correcting primer or alone as light coverage for an allover flawless look. Its antioxidant-rich formula delivers the perfect balance of color correction and coverage with a soft, matte finish.

My thoughts: I use this primer literally every single day. It's become a must have and a repurchase for me. I think this is a fantastic product for women who don't like to wear a ton of makeup on their face and who just need some light coverage. I mainly use this as my foundation and I use a light colored powder over. I have some redness to my skin and I also am always striving to have my skin look brighter. The green clay in this counteracts the redness in my skin and the purple helps brighten. You can use this as just a primer and add foundation over as well. My powder which is from DHC Skincare applies evenly and is long lasting when applied over this product. I definitely recommend this for summer as well when you're looking for lightweight natural looking coverage. Definitely a must have piece in my daily routine!

What are your thoughts about these Tarte Colored Clay products? Have you tried any, if so, what'd you think? Comment and let me know, I'd love to hear from you!
