Rimmel London has some fabulous makeup items which you can use to create that perfect makeup look whether it be prom make up, make up for work, or make up for a casual night out with friends. They really have a wide array of products you can use to create a variety of different looks. Today I'm going to show you a Rimmel makeup tutorial on how to create a retro glam look. These products are widely available and can be found at your local Walmart. Keep reading my blog post tutorial to find out the steps I took and the products I used to create this look.

I've been a fan of Rimmel primers ever since I tried Rimmel Fix and Perfect. It created that perfect canvas for my makeup application. I was super excited to try their new Stay Matte Primer. This was the first product I applied. I used about a dime sized amount and spread this evenly on my face with my fingers. This minimizes pores and controls shine for 8 hours. My second step was to apply Rimmel's new Stay Matte Foundation. This is a really light oil free formula that does not feel heavy or greasy on the skin. It controls shine all day long and blends into your skin for a natural looking matte finish.
I then applied Rimmel's Stay Matte pressed powder to set my foundation. This product uses natural minerals to provide 5 hours of shine free coverage. Finally, I used the Match perfection blush for a subtle natural pop of color on my cheeks. I added some Rimmel Natural Bronzer with a fluffy kabuki brush all over my face for a light touch of color. I applied a more concentrated amount into the hollows of my cheeks for some contouring.
My next area of focus was my eyes. I am a huge fan of eyeshadows and creating different looks. Since I was going for a retro glam look and I knew I was going to do a bold red lip, I wanted to pair it with a more neutral lid. I used Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige. This is one of my favorite neutral eyeshadow products in my collection. It's super easy and quick to apply and it does have great staying power. This created a slightly shimmery gorgeous neutral beige lid to build off of. To add a little bit of color and to bring out my green eyes, I added Rimmel Scandaleyes in Bad Girl Bronze. I added this right to the center of my lids and then I blended out with my fingers.
I used my Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal liner in Shimmering Back to line my lower lash line and upper lash line. I created a small wing on the upper lash line for a touch of drama on the eyes. Last but not least, I applied Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara for a bold wide-eyed false lash look. This hour glass shaped brush has traditional bristles that make it easy to reach each and every lash without clumping at a very retro price.
To tie the look together, I next focused on my lip color. I had planned on doing a bold red lip and when I came up with this look I knew instantly that my Lasting Finish lipstick by Kate Moss in 01 would be perfect. This provides a bold red lip color that is sure to get you noticed yet is still a wearable color that would be suitable for many different looks and skin tones.

For hair, I knew I wanted to do a curl which was loosely pinned to one side. I have naturally curly hair, but I used my curling iron and fingers to create some larger curls. I swept my hair to one side so it laid mainly on one shoulder. I put a bobby pin in the opposite side to keep my hair going in the direction I wanted it to. I then pinned a small piece of hair back loosely on the side my hair laid on. I felt this added to the retro glam look by pairing some more dramatic pieces in with a classic look.
