Smashbox Holiday Wondervision 2013 {Review}

I feel like I've been saying this a lot lately that I'm loving a lot of palettes, makeup, hair and beauty items for this holiday season and I truly am. One of my absolute favorite items though is the Smashbox Wondervision mega palette, which is exclusive to Ulta. This has pretty much everything you could want in a holiday palette. There is a wonderful variety of mattes, shimmers and subtle glittery eyeshadows. No matter what the finish is, all shades have that creamy velvety texture. There really aren't any duds in here. This truly is such a complete palette to create pretty much any kind of eye look you could imagine.

There are also three blush shades and a bronzer. At first they look pretty underwhelming, but trust me they are gorgeous on the skin. They are much more pigmented than I thought they would be. They are pinkish colors and I didn't know how they'd show up on my skin, especially Baby Pink which is the lightest shade and Glow which is a little darker and has some shimmer in it. All shades actually showed up quite well and were really natural. The third shade down (Glow) contains some shimmer to it, but it is not overwhelming at all. I love blending these shades together as well for a custom blush look. The bronzer is a pretty standard medium matte brown shade which can work for overall bronzing or for contouring. The palette is also a good size. It isn't overly bulky and doesn't contain any unnecessary packaging which makes it easier to travel with.

I've been able to create every type of look you could imagine with this. It is my go to palette for a simple look for work or for a sexy smoldering eye look.

The matte shades didn't swatch as impressive as the shimmery shades, but they work excellent as crease and highlight shades and are super easy to blend. You can see below just how creamy all the shades really are. I prefer more shimmery shades and I tend to not use matte shades as often. Even for me as a shimmery shade lover, I get a lot of use out the matte shades in this palette and
