Pur Minerals Untamed Glamour {Review}

sample provided for review
The pur minerals untamed glamour set is in partnership with National Geographic Wild. I think this is such a unique and great gift to give someone for the holidays who is an animal and makeup lover. Pur Minerals is of course a cruelty free brand. The set includes a Big Blink Mascara (.12oz/3.4g), Mineral Glow Bronzer (.280oz/8g), and the Cat Eye Liquid Liner (.04oz/1.1g). This limited edition set is inspired by the majestic felines featured on Nat Geo WILD's annual Big Cat Week. You can learn more at causeanuproar.org and tune in for Big Cat Week on November 29th! This set retails for $26. Plus, a portion of the proceeds goes to National Geographic’s Big Cats Initiative, which is dedicated to halting the decline of big cats in the wild through conservation and awareness.

For me the star of this set is the limited edition bronzer. It comes in the most adorable packaging with a cat like design on the actual product. I was a little worried at first that this would be a little too dark on my fair skin, especially with winter coming, but this applied really naturally and was pretty light when applied with a fluffy kabuki brush. This has some shimmer to it, but it is not overwhelming. It didn't make my face look too shimmery at all, but gave me a nice natural look. Because of that, I feel this could double as a contour shade and also triple as an eyeshadow! I think the price for this set is pretty reasonable given one high end bronzer can cost $26 alone. I pretty much think of the mascara and liner as bonuses! Both the bronzer and the eyeliner are full size.

The Big Blink Mascara brush kind of reminds me of Benefit's They're Real, except I like this formulation much better. I'm usually not a huge fan of rubber bristle mascara brushes, but this one did a good job at lengthening both upper and lower lashes. The wand is flexible as well. For me, it was however lacking in really volumizing my lashes.

The product that was the hardest to work with was the new Cat Eye Liquid Liner. Some liquid liners can be tricky and although I appreciate the pointed tip to this with the larger base for versatility, it felt a little awkward in my hand. I was still able to draw a cat eye with the liner, but this may be a little more difficult for makeup newbies. I found the staying power to be really great. When I swatched it on my hand, it wouldn't budge until I washed off with soap or makeup remover.

Which piece of this three piece set is your favorite? Will you be watching Big Cat week on Nat Geo Wild? Comment and let me know your furry thoughts. Also don't forget to check out my review of pur mineral's 6 piece show off collection! It would be a great compliment to this set!
