I was so happy to have the opportunity to test these out, but I had a hard time picking between Box #1 and Box #3. I felt those would be the best colors for my complexion that I would get the most use out of, but I finally landed on Box #3 and am very happy with the set, although all the sets look gorgeous. I'm kind of seriously crushing on Don't Stop Red as well!

Sturdiest, cloth like face wipes I've ever used!
My thoughts:
  • I am a total face wipe lover. I've tried many brands including Almay, Neutrogena, Burt's Bees, Simple, Say Yes to Blueberries, and many more.
  • These are definitely the sturdiest cloth like feeling wipes I've ever used, making these super duper soft on your skin.
  • My skin tends to be on the dry side and although I do use a serum or moisturizer after using these, my face doesn't feel horribly dry and tight after which is a feeling I absolutely hate!
  • These have minimal to no scent, which is great for perfume sensitive people like me.
  • My skin has really reacted well to these and they are now top of my list.
Does this brand sound great to you? Would you like to try them? Well, GREAT news for you because I am giving four products from this line away in my launch giveaway.
  • Intensive Moisture Cream ($30)
  • Moisturizing Facial Cleansing Foam ($18)
  • Moisturizing Body Lotion ($30)
  • Moisturizing Cleansing Wipes ($12.99)
I have revealed some prizes and brands already, but the final reveal will be announced on December 1st and its going to be the biggest giveaway I've ever done by far. Simple Fall Look of the Day

Products Used:

1. Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 220
I keep this handy jar shaped container in my purse for when I'm in a hurry and don't have time to put traditional foundation on. This comes with a sponge and the container has a separate section for the sponge to go in.

2. Make Up For Ever High Definition Powder
This light as air white fine grained powder was applied with a kabuki brush over my foundation for an even flawless finish. See more information here.

3. Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream Shade 16 (pictured above)
This shimmery pink cream color was applied in 2 layers to make the perfect pink eyeshadow look with ease. This is from the MUFE All Eyes on You Limited Edition set. See swatches and review here.

4. Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash Mascara
This mascara will majorly plump up those lashes, giving them length and volume. Use a lash comb to comb out any clumpies, which I do get this this mascara.

5. Make Up For Ever Jumbo Aqua Eyes Liner in Matte Brown (pictured above)
This is my go to deep chocolate brown color for my eyes. I barely need to touch the tip of the pencil to my lash line for an even and flawless application. I focused some more of this color on the outer V area of my lash lines and blended in with my fingers, I also used this to line the upper lash line and blended in with my fingers again.

6. Maybelline Lipstick in Coral Lustre (pictured above)
This affordable lip product will last a good 2 hours before a touch-up is needed. This is my favorite coral shade and I think it will be flattering on many different skin-tones as it is not too bright or bold.

I slicked and pulled back my hair into a high bun. I used Living Proof  no frizz nourishing styling cream (find at Sephora) along with Diamond shine weightless gloss drops (find at Sally's Beauty). I used the Goody Spin Pins to secure this in 2 steps.  I paired this simple makeup look with a fun fall scarf, burnt orange top, black pencil skirt and black tights. I will definitely be duplicating this look for another fall day, while they last!

    Clip-In Hair Extensions {Review}

    Hairdo by Hairuwear
    16" Ombre clip in extension

I am by no means a hair expert and the thought of hair extensions although appealing, is a little intimidating. That's why I'm glad there are products like this that make it so easy. This 16'' synthetic hair extension has 5 clips that you open up, place the piece onto your head, and push the clips closed. It also comes with alligator clips so you can clip your hair up while finding your part line and clipping this in. I was sent a blonde hair piece, so my sister in law helped out modeling this since it doesn't really mesh with my dark brown hair. :) We kind of put these on in a jiffy during our thanksgiving, so its not a perfect application, but for non hair experts, I was really happy with the end result. Retails price varies, but is listed around $50.
Company Product Description  Multi-level, 16" one piece clip-in extension that creates easy, fashionable style without the hassle of working with several individual wefts. Short hair transforms into luxurious below the shoulder length hair. Long hair becomes thick and full. Clip-in for color, length and volume. Available in 6 Salon inspired ombre colors.
The hair feels really soft, natural, and high quality. It really does enhance the look of your hair without looking like you've got some fake hair clipped to your head. :) These can also be brushed, straightened, curled, etc. I straightened these to fit with my model's straight long hair look.
Pop the clips out, put in place, and pop the clips closed. Easy as that!
Attach the piece to your part line so the ends end up longer than your natural hair for the full ombre effect.

The hair looks fuller without making it look fake.

Pop Clip in Color Strips 16"
These provide an easy inexpensive alternative to dying your hair, getting extensions sewn in or chalking your hair (which can be incredibly drying.) These were super easy to use and the colors were vibrant and looked really great in, especially against my sister-in laws gorgeous blonde hair. These are also cruelty free and come in the following colors: Amethyst, Blue, Gold, Pink, Purple, Red, Black, Teal, and Light Purple.

Company Description: Part of the Put On Pieces® new collection, Clip-In Color Strips are perfect for creating instant brights! Made with the finest quality of 100% fine human hair, these Clip-In Color Strips are 16" long on a 1" weft and can be curled or straightened with thermal styling tools to blend perfectly with any style you create. 100% fine human hair. Retails around $10/each.

    Pink
    Pink on Brunette hair
    Purple
I kind of like the look of these intertwined in a messy bun.

Looking to purchase any of these? I do see Ken Paves pieces on Hautelook from time to time where you can find name brand items for much less than the retail cost. Otherwise, the Hairuwear website lists stores/websites/locators so you can easily find where to purchase these near you. And a special thanks to my newest model. Leave a comment welcoming her to the blog family. And now that she is in my actual family forever, I can subject her to a lot of things. Maybe a DIY haircut post or an at home perm next? Waaaa haaaa haaaa. :)

    Face Stockholm Winter Line {Review}

    Winter Line {Review}: FACE Stockholm

Company Winter &  Holiday 2012 Look: is inspired by a caravan of cultural tradition, a mix of regional influences, including the contrasts of color found in Scandinavian folk dress and costume.

Characterized by a dominant color bordered by bands of brilliant pattern, the influence of these costumes resonates in the choice of colors for holiday — the eyes and cheeks play a neutral role against the prominent, rich lip — she is reserved yet distinct, she observes traditions new and old.

This company has a tremendous amount of color options, maybe the largest I've ever seen including:
142 shades of lipstick, 45 shades of lip gloss, 28 shades pot gloss, 38 lipliner shades, 71 shades matte eyeshadow, 39 shades pearl eyeshadow, 9 highlighter shades, 7 volumnizing mascara shades & many more!!

FACE Stockholm is a brand that can be purchased at J. Crew and at facestockholm.com. It is a German brand which explains the brand name and product names, but I can't get over that it makes me think of Stockholm syndrome.
I tried a brown matte shade "Brunogd" and a shimmer shade "Parlemo". I used the shimmer shade as a base for my eyelids. I found the product was hard to get out of the container with any kind of brush or my fingers. It was kind of dry and chalky, especially for a $20 product.
The shimmer was very minimal and really only noticeable in the package. I also used the brown matte shade as basically a base to build off of. I applied this all over the lid and in the crease area. I then filled in my lids with some more vibrant shimmery browns and neutrals and some pinks and purples in the very outer V area. I actually thought the matte eyeshadow shade had to be a brow powder at first because it just did not have the consistency, look, and feel I would expect from a $20 shadow. These were the only products I've ever tried from this brand, so I can't vouch for the quality of the rest.
    Morocco-very deep brown shade

The lipstick came in a super sleek sturdy silver metal packaging. I however was not a huge fan of the deep brown shade, it just wasn't my color. I have fair skin to begin with, but in the winter, it is obviously even lighter. I find that deep lipsticks like this will have a tendency to wash me out. For the winter season, I try to stick with pinks and brighter reds. A plum would be the deepest shade I would like to go for winter. My guess is a lot of people feel the same as I do and may not get a lot of use out of a brown lip shade. Application/creaminess/stay-ability were all good.
