Éclos- Plant Based Beauty

After a MyGlam bag a few months ago had an Éclos product in, Jessica was hooked and we knew we had to try more.  We were sent their plant based skin care set.  It's a great value at $19.99 and can be purchased through Freeman Beauty's website.  I love that they are travel sized and it's a great way to try the whole collection at once.

I would describe Éclos as middle-of-the-road in terms of prices.  It's too expensive to be classified as drugstore, and too cheap to be department store.  The entire line is formulated without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, mineral oil, or petroleum.

These are the 6 products that come in the kit:

Facial Cleanser Skin Prep (rejuvenate and clean)
Restorative Eye Cream (fortify and correct)
Cellular Activator Facial Serum (regenerate and rebuild)
Instant Radiance Facial Scrub (smooth and renew)
Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream (hydrate and strengthen)
What I found the most awesome about this line was the price (around $20 per product) considering the quality of the products.  The active ingredient that makes this special is the Plant Stem Cells extracted from a rare Swiss apple, (Uttwiler Spätlauber), which stimulates skin stem cells, encouraging aging skin to behave like younger skin.  This is a relatively new discovery in skincare, and most products containing this ingredient cost hundreds of dollars.  Oskia, Xeridian Skincare, Indie Lee, Chantecaille, Glymed, Theraesthetics, and Derma Swiss are just a few product lines that contain this highly coveted ingredient, and all of these lines cost at least 3 times what Éclos goes for.

According to their website, these are the clinically proven results:

-100% of the women saw a reduction in wrinkle appearance  within 2 weeks
-Skin’s collagen matrix and elastin fibroblasts can look up to 15 years younger (a 50 year old subject’s skin can appear like that of a 35 year old)

So what did we think?

Justina's thoughts:

When testing out skincare, I don't normally swap out ALL of my current regimen at once- I will just try one or two things at a time.  For this review I actually totally quit my skin care routine cold turkey for this.  I was really pleased with the results I achieved from this.  The cleanser is nourishing at the same time as cleaning my skin- it doesn't feel tight or dry.  The facial scrub heats up when you scrub it together in your hands.  It feels so good on the skin.  The clay mask does a fantastic job of renewing and refreshing my skin and improving the way it looks.  The eye cream is fast to absorb but I'm not sure it improves my fine lines around my eye area.  The facial serum feels fantastic and really smooths and softens my skin- I'd be curious what the long term benefits of using this would be.  While a little on the perfumey side, I thought the facial lotion was very high quality, moisturized without being greasy, and improved my skin's texture.

If I didn't have so many skin care products currently going, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a full size in all of these products.  I loved all of the products when used together, but couldn't vouch for how they work if you only purchase one or two.  If I had to pick the super stars of the line, I would say I  love the facial serum and the facial scrub the most.  I find this to be a super affordable, high quality skin care line that leaves the skin feeling great!

Jessica's thoughts:
I absolutely love this line! These are the kind of products you dig and scrape to get every last drop of and are sad to see the bottom of! One of the reasons both of us try the products for the blog, especially skincare is that it can be so person specific. I'm usually the one that has a sensitive sniffer and Justina classified these as a little on the perfumey side, I however absolutely love the scent.

My favorite products are the face scrub, serum, and lotion. The scrub heats up and feels amazing on your skin. You use your fingers to gently massage in circles and it ends up having a feel like a body polish would. The serum and lotion I use together before bedtime and they keep my dry skin moisturized. I've got nothing but good things to say about this line. Major win in my book!

  1. I got the same set at Walgreen's for $19.99 and I simply loved it too. I didn't get around to researching what they cost individually so I really enjoyed this post and to see that you both felt the same way as me!
