My Lip Heroes

Today I bring to you two lip products that I feel like have been Hercules on my lips lately.  I have some of the most chapped, peeling, nasty lips that are constantly dry no matter the season.  I hate taking pictures of my lips for the blog because I'm always worried that some hater will make a statement about my gross lips and I'll have nothing to say back besides "yep, gross, I know!"

Anyhow, I recently stumbled upon two amazing products that have truly been helping my lips and I can tell a huge difference in how they feel after using these.

Secret Agent Lip Gloss
Retails at $16

Jessica recently reviewed these here and shortly after I was given the opportunity to try these as well.  The lip glosses are tiny and come in the cutest little packaging.  As you can see, the one here has little gold flakes in it.  Unfortunately, they don't translate on to your lips that way (well maybe that's not such a bad thing- I don't know how gold flake lips would look, probably gross).  There are different colors on their website that you can check out at the link above, none of which are all that pigmented.  They go on rather sheer, but do give a nice little sheen of color that is a step up from my natural lip color.

So what's so great about this gloss?  It really smooths out my lips and gets into the little lines and crevices.  My lips have never felt smoother than when I wear this.  They do contain aloe and vitamin E as their smoothing and soothing ingredients and after wearing this I can definitely tell that my lips feel healthier.  Some of the other formulas on their website have plumping agents in them too!
Fresh SUGAR lip balm
Retails at $22

Fresh SUGAR lip products, where have you been all my life?  I can't believe I ever settled for Burt's Bees or Blistex after trying this product.  No joke, best lip balm out there.  I tried the Birthday Duo shades from Sephora, which included the plain lip treatment and the Rose.  The plain one has a citrusy scent and slight flavor that reminds me of lemons, and the Rose has a slight rosy tint which is buildable depending on how much you apply.  The lip treatments all have an SPF of 15 which is a definite plus.  It is proven to provide 6 hours of significant moisture for soft, supple, and youthful lips.  It contains sugar (natural humectant to prevent moisture loss), meadowfoam and black currant seed oils (nourishing oils), and grapeseed polyphenols (to protect, smooth, and soften).

When applying this to my lips it is easy to over apply and get on more product than you would a regular balm and leaves what I would describe as a thin, buttery layer of product on the lips.  It is ultra hydrating and lasts for several hours.  It's very emollient and feels luxurious on the lips.   The packaging is a little bit heavy since it comes in a metal tube, which is also probably why it's $22.  The price is my only real complaint about this product.  Because it is easy to over apply I would say you could go through a large tube of this in the span of a couple months if you were rotating it with other products, or even a month if you used it exclusively.

These have definitely been my go to products that I love for my lips lately.  Anything that you have been using that has been a real hero for you?  Have you tried either of these products?
