Ellin Lavar Textures ThermMist Hot Tool Styling Maximum Heat Protection

Today I bring to you a product by Ellin Lavar- this line is formulated for people whose hair is coarse, curly, dry, or frizzy.  I would say this time of year my hair falls under the coarse, dry, and frizzy categories.  My hair can't get enough moisture lately and the change in season is really wreaking havoc on my strands.  I rarely struggle with frizz unless there is a huge temperature change during the change and season...and well...this would be that time.  So I was delighted to give this ThermMist product a shot!

To be fair, I always rate products based upon whether they live up to what the company claims.  Here is what this product is said to do:
Thermal mist for hot tool styling
Adds invisible layer of maximum heat-protection when using flat irons
and curling irons.
Smoothes the hair’s surface so styling tools actually work better.
Leaves hair with magnificent shine, body and control.
When using this product, I sprayed it generously all over my hair.  I couldn't tell whether or not it really protected my hair while I was using my flat iron, but since that's what the product was formulated to do, I'm sure I wasn't causing damage (or at least not as much).  I didn't notice my straightener working better than normal like the claim, but since I always use a heat protectant, perhaps my tools are always used to working better.  I didn't notice any additional shine, body, or control, and actually found myself using additional shine products after heat styling.  I didn't find that it really helped my hair from being dry, coarse, or frizzy.

Part of the problem for me could have been the fact that I'm used to using aerosol products in my hair that really get every last strand since they shoot out a fine mist over a larger area.  The mist for a spray top bottle such as this one is more concentrated and it's harder to get the product everywhere you want it.  All in all, this was a very average product.  If you are not picky about your heat styling products, this one is a low price tag product that you might try.
