Manna Kadar Sheer Glo Lotion

My Birchbox for the month of July was stellar!  I really feel like they are more consistently putting out great boxes.  When I first signed up, I would get a GREAT box, then an average box, then a terrible box, then an ok box, then another GREAT box.  Super inconsistent, and I was always one crappy box away from quitting my whole service.  I'm so glad I have stuck it out, because the last 2-3 months have yielded products that I either already have and LOVE (and get to stock up on for cheap) or products I've never heard of and love.  One such product would be the Manna Kadar Sheer Glo Lotion in Paradise.

You can pick these up in their full size jar at www.birchbox.com or www.mannakadarcosmetics.com.  As of this moment, I'm not sure if they're available through any other beauty websites.  It comes in two shades- Movie Star (a pale shimmery beige) or Paradise (a bronzed rose shade).  I think MOST people got Movie Star in their Birchbox, but I ended up with Paradise.  This specific color was created for Birchbox and you can't get it through the Manna Kadar website at this time, although you can get Movie Star on both websites.

In this picture, I am wearing the glo lotion on my cheekbones, and brow bone.  As you can see, it's not overwhelmingly shimmery or glimmery or glittery.  It gives a very sheer, natural glow.

Close up- you can really see it on my cheekbones and my brow bone in this picture.

At first when I got this product I tried to tell myself I didn't need the full size, because I already had a dupe!  I looked through all my makeup and pulled out my Clinique Uplighting Liquid Illuminator in the shade "Blush".  After putting a dot of each on my hand, and rubbing them in, I can see now that they're not dupes at all!

I love both of these illuminators.  Although both of them indicate in the directions that they can be used alone or mixed in with foundation, I would not mix either with my foundation.  Why?  They are pink/red based as you can see when they are sheered out.  I don't want my skin to take on a ruddy tone when I use products.  My purpose that I use foundation is so I can keep my skin even toned and eliminate redness where I don't want it.  If I need a little bit of blush or illuminator, I'll add it where I need it, not all over, thank you very much!

If you're curious, the Manna Kadar Glo Lotion retails at $29.  The Clinique Illuminator retails at $25.

I was able to make a little deal with the ladies at Manna Kadar to offer all of our lovely readers a discount on their products.  Once again, Paradise was Birchbox exclusive (at least for now) so I can only give you a code that will save you on the other shade that I don't have, Movie Star.  I've seen swatches and it's equally gorgeous.  We hope to work with them soon and try out the other shade for you all so we can swatch it and tell you what we think of that one too.  Here are the codes:

Sheer Glo for $22 ($7 off) Code: GLO
Camera Ready for $35 ($7 off) Code: CR
Bundle Sheer Glo and Camera Ready $55 ($16 off) Code: Bundle

Another thing!  Our connection with Manna Kadar was so nice, she said to let us know if we want a discount on a different bundle too.  How awesome is that?!  If you check out their website, www.mannakadarcosmetics.com and something else strikes your fancy, send us an email at trubeautygems@gmail.com and we will do our best to get you a discount.  :-)

Yours in Beauty,
Justina
