Strange Invisible Perfumes

We recently stumbled upon a company called Strange Invisible Perfumes  and they were kind enough to send us some samples of their fragrances to try out.  They sent us five samples of their "perfumes of the zodiac" collection.

Here is a little background on the company:

Perfecting the chemistry between botanical distillates and exciting narratives, each Strange Invisible perfume courts the senses and illuminates the imagination. To complement a spectrum of exquisite natural fragrances, the company also offers a truly pure collection of bath and body products. These botanical delights offer uncompromising excellence in appeal, purity, and performance.
“Our perfumes are melded in the fires of three essential components: pure aromatic plants, reverent distillation, and evocative composition."
- Alexandra Balahoutis

Because they are new to the perfume scene, only Virgo, Leo, and Pisces are available to the general public at this time.  Just to give you an idea of how luxe this product line is, a 1.7 fl. oz size of this perfume runs $275.  What is wonderful is you can buy a sample size (the tiny little vial size you can normally find free in the mall) for only $4 through their website.  I highly recommend doing this before splurging on a full size because of the expense.

I've included a product description in italics and my brief review with an asterick underneath each fragrance- enjoy!

Hydro-distilled essences of cinnamon, lime, rose, frankincense, lavender, an- gelica, amber, patchouli, sandalwood, botanical musk.

* The strongest scent of the bunch, I mostly picked up on the patchouli scent.  A very sharp and full bodied fragrance.

Fluid and aquatic, Pisces Eau de Parfum is a tribute to the twelfth sign of the zodiac. Given Pisces’ dreamy and sometimes impractical nature, notes of frankincense, cedarwood and black pepper ground the imagination while jasmine, kewda and lime keep the waters of creativity abundantly flowing.  Additional notes include angelica, ylang ylang, bay leaf and black pepper.

* The most prominent scent I picked up on was the black pepper mixed with jasmine.  This is a pretty strong scent with a slight hint of the lime, yet not at all fruity.
Seamless layers of rare ingredients and unexpected synergies speak to the quintessential Virgo soul. Eccentric notes of baked earth, sandalwood and palo santo add depth and introspection to clean, sparkling notes of neroli, temple mandarin, and rose, creating a precise, yet soothing composition that will satisfy even the most ruthless perfectionists.   Additional notes include jasmine.

* This was a very earthy fragrance and I picked up most on the sandalwood of any of the other notes.  This is a cleaner and softer scent than most of the others in the collection.

Hydro-distilled rose, golden champaca, basil, lavender, iris, grapefruit.

*This is the softest and one of the most pleasant scents in my opinion of the whole bunch.  The most prominent note that I picked up was the rose.

Honey, amber, frankincense, geranium, maté, mitti attar, neroli, oakmoss, rose, vetiver.

*Geranium and oak moss were the two scents that I picked up the most out of this fragrance.  This is a fragrance for a mature woman who likes it strong and prefers a sharp in-your-face scent.

In general, I feel like you could get by with a maximum of one spritz of these fragrances, and with the price tag, you wouldn't want to use more than that much.  I highly suggest getting a sample on their website before investing in the full size as it's quite an investment.  Are they worth the high price tag?  If you love perfume and have the budget for it, why not?  Each fragrance is extremely strong and concentrated so it would take only a very small amount to get by.  If you are a fan of fragrances with several notes and not just a couple these may be for you.
