Too Faced Better Than False Lashes

I was recently given the opportunity to try Too Faced Better than False Lashes, which retails at $35.  Their company sent them out to a handful of bloggers.  Rather than go into huge detail describing what this is supposed to do- I will just tell you it's a 3 step process and let the pictures speak for themselves.

I am always wary of packaging that promises my eyelashes to look outlandishly thick.  Pretty sure this girl is wearing some crazy false lashes in this picture.

When you open the package, you'll see that there are two tubes.

Step 1 tells you to apply this mascara!

Here is a picture of the wand for Step 1.

Up close and personal after applying this to my lashes.

Step 2 asks you to apply the Nylon Lash Extension System.

Eek!  This is NOT a blurry picture- contrary to what it might look like.  I opened the tube and pulled out what looks like a bunch of white fluffy fibers.  Kind of creepy huh?

I applied this over Step 1's mascara.  It gave me a very tickle-y sensation, and a lot of the fibers fell down my cheeks and fell into the sink.  It will definitely take some getting used to.

Ok- now back to step 3. Apply this mascara again.

Finished product.

Are my lashes longer?  Yes.  Are they thicker?  Yes.  However, I don't feel that it lives up to the picture on the front of the box.  If you like the kewpie doll eyes look this mascara might be for you.  I personally didn't really dig having my lashes go wonky in every which direction.

Here is as pic from farther away.  When you're not right up in my lashes it's not so weird.

The verdict?  I was happy with the performance of the Step 1/3 mascara.  I would skip Step 2 in the future.  This is not my favorite lash look, but it might be yours!  If you are a fan of Hypnose Doll Lashes by Lancome of They're Real! by Benefit, you might also be a fan of this mascara.  Both of those mascaras deliver more of a kewpie eye look.

Here is the classic kewpie doll eyelash look- it's a more spidery lash look characterized by making your lashes stick together in clumps.  It's a rather hard look to achieve with most mascaras!

Justina
