Shea Terra Products Review!

Hello beauties!  Today I bring you another Shea Terra review!  If you want to be linked to a review of their African Lemongrass Black Soap you can check it out here.  I asked them if they had any products that were good for expectant mothers, and they asked if I wanted to try their Shea Nilotica Sensitive Skin Moisturizing Bath Bar.  I also wanted to review a product of theirs that I purchased recently called the Bananas and Baobabs Whipped Shea Butter Body Cream.  I love both of these products because they are organic AND effective.  Everyone wants organic products these days, but only if it works!

First, the Shea soap, which retails at $8.  What I like most about this is the fact that is almost fragrance free.  They advertise it as being totally fragrance free, but I can still pick up on a little bit of the herbal scent.  It is wonderful for the sensitive skin of moms, babies, elderly, and everyone.  I've been using this is in the shower, and not only do I feel that it makes my skin feel squeaky clean, but it leaves my skin so soft too!  I wouldn't go so far to say that I don't need to moisturize after my shower, but it gives me moisture that other bar soaps do not.  It's not hard to find shea butter soaps in the grocery stores or mall now that the organic movement is going strong, but the ingredients in this soap are different than most- 33% organic shea butter, organic virgin oils of coconut cream and olive, naturally occurring vitamins A & E.  Also, this little snippet taken directly from their website makes me feel good about what I'm doing to help out:
You’ll cleanse in peace knowing that using this soap helps the women of the Otuwe Shea Butter Cooperative. Many of the women were once enslaved by the rebel Ugandan militia. Producing Shea Nilotica gives them above market wages, has helped many of them buy their own homes and start their own businesses.
Next up for review is the Bananas & Baobabs Whipped Shea Butter.  I bought this on a whim the other day after reading some reviews and boy am I glad I did!  The jar is huge and cost $18, which you may think is steep for a lotion, but it's organic and the scent is heavenly, and it will last forever.  My husband is even digging the scent of this!  He thinks it smells like circus peanuts, but I think it smells like some sort of banana cream pie.  It is truly divine and sinks right into your skin and leaves you with so much moisture!  There are several other tantalizing fragrances I absolutely can't WAIT to try at some point but it will take me forever to run out of this.  If you are looking for a good hand and body cream, look no further!

We can't stop loving on Shea Terra's company!  Check out some of the wonderful products they have to offer by joining Beauty Army!  is the site we discovered them on, and through this service you can choose 6 deluxe samples monthly, including products by this fabulous brand!

Yours in Beauty,

  1. I'm so in love with their Rose Hips black soap, I use it every other day as a mask and my skin has been looking so good and clearing up so well!

I'm dying to try that Bananas and Baobobs cream, too, but I can't justify buying more lotion/moisturizer until I use up what I have. SIGH.
