Garnier BB Cream: Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector

Walgreens right now has $3 off of a lot of Garnier products, including their new B.B. Cream. They also had a manufacturer's coupon for $1 that was next to the product. This retails at $12.99, I ended up paying $8.99. My shade was Light/Medium and it was a really good match for my skin tone. There is one other color option for medium/deep skin tones.

What is a BB cream?
You may have heard people talking about BB products which stands for Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm. These are basically products that are suppose to provide some coverage while also containing a lot of great skincare ingredients. For DIY, you can get the same effect by using a tinted moisturizer or foundation  and mixing it with your skincare lotion with the same type of ingredients like Vitamin E, Caffeine, Essential Fatty Acids, Vitamin C, Minerals, etc. The BB cream basically makes this into a one step skincare and foundation/coverage. The Asian and European versions are suppose to far exceed the newer US ones.

My thoughts
  • I like that the color was a perfect match for my skin
  • It definitely evened out my skin tone, eliminating some of the redness in my cheek and nose area
  • Lightweight feel
  • Very faint scent, non-irritating
  • Light coverage perfect for summer days or days when your skin is looking pretty good on its own
  • I don't know if I would say this actually "boosted healthy glow" or not. I think it looks better mainly because it evened my skintone
  • Skin feels smooth after application
  • You do not need to use a lot of the product and it is buildable if you want a little more coverage.
  • The size of the bottle is a good size because you don't need to use a lot of the product. I paid $9, I think it is a little small for the $13 normal retail price though.
  • The packaging has a before and after picture on it, but the small font says "simulated image", that makes me reluctant to trust the picture on the box which I'm sure gets a lot of people to buy this
  • I've had a horrible experience with Garnier Blow Dry Perfector which totally ruined my hair. This is the first Garnier product I bought in over a year because I've really been wanting to try it and I really do like it.
I just bought this today, so I will update my post later regarding their  hydration claim and if this broke out or irritated my skin at all. Have you tried this or other BB products? I know Justina has the Estee Lauder one and Lauren has the Clinique one (which she didn't like). Leave us a comment, we would love to hear from you!

Yours in Beauty,

  1. Ohhh I want this! I don't like wearing foundation in general, because it often feels too heavy or drying, so I like the idea of a moisturizer that provides some tinted coverage as well. This is something I never would have thought to buy but if I see it on sale I'd love to try it.

  2. Did you get the foundation from myface? I love Neutrogena Healthy Skin foundation, its kind of expensive for drugstore, but really lightweight. Otherwise I use a tinted moisturizer or I mix a tinted sunscreen with face lotion. You should try mixing a foundation with lotion, you will get light coverage, but not that heavy feeling.
