Friday Favorites

Here are some of my favorite products of the moment! I've been loving my daily routine and have been going with a more natural look lately!

1. Too Faced Pink Leopard Lightening Bronzer, $29

I apply this lightly all over my face with a very fluffy powder brush for a nice all over healthy bronzed look.  You can also apply this as a highlighter on the cheekbone area or blend with your eyeshadow up to the browbone. There are so many uses to this bronzer. There are three different colors in the palette which you can swirl together or use alone if you have a small or pointed brush.

2. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer, $42

I first tried this from a deluxe sized sample, which I just cut up today and squeezed the last out of. I got at least a good 2 weeks of use out of this sample and am planning on purchasing the full size. Your foundation will not budge with this and this is perfect in the winter when your skin is seeking that extra moisture or if your skin is a little on the dry side like mine is. This is a new primer to the legendary Smashbox primer line. This is pricey, but you only need a pea sized amount and has hydraplex which is an extract derived from desert plants.

3. Jouer Tinted Moisturizer, $39

I have been wearing this tinted moisturizer almost daily. I have the shade in pearl. This gives just enough coverage to even out your skin tone and hide some imperfections. This has a lightweight feeling and gives your skin a nice light glow. I wouldn't say there is sparkle per se in this, but for women looking for a pure matte finish, you might not like the slight shimmer effect to this. I classify it more as a light glow look, but definitely not 100% matte. A little bit goes a long way with this as well. My skin looks flawless with this all day long. This is described on their website as a "shimmering tint" and comes in 6 shades depending on your skin tone.

4. NARS Illuminator in Orgasm, $30

I have been applying this liquid illuminator onto the apples of my cheeks and patting it upward to the hair line. If I have some extra on my hands, I lightly pat this on my forehead and chin for an all over glow. This has enough color to it that it can be worn alone or topped with shadow. There are some really beautiful gold, peachy, and pink tones to this illuminator. Sometimes I wear this alone, sometimes I top with NARS powder  blush in Orgasm, or I pick one of my many other blushes to top this off. This can be topped off with almost any color blush and it will look great. This gives your skin such a healthy warm flush to it. I am absolutely in love with this product. I got this as a deluxe sized sample as well, but will be ordering a full size of this too very soon.

5. Eyebrow Waxing, $5-$15
One of the huge perks to having my office right next door to a salon is popping in when there are great deals. Today they were running a special to have your eyebrows waxed for $5 which is a great deal. This usually will run you $10-$15. This is such a great pick me up and is so important because it shapes your face. She used a cream wax so the ouch factor was minimal.

6. Revlon Hair Dye, $5

I also dyed my hair tonight "Brown Black" using Revlon hair color which was on sale for $2.99. This was the deepest brown I could go without going black. I figured I have a couple more months left to go dark before I'm going to want to go lighter for spring. If I get my hair done at the salon it costs me around $125. This is the 2nd time I have dyed my hair using Revlon and I'm really liking it. It is ammonia free and my hair looks and feels healthy and shiny after. This dye last long and has a very even look to it. Some do it yourself dies end up looking darker at the bottoms than at the roots. I think this is the cheapest brand of hair dye, or close to it, but has been one of my faves.  I don't notice any difference than when I go to the salon. I will be heading back to the salon to lighten my hair. I would also recommend going to the salon if you are going to get highlights or lowlights. However, if you are dying your hair close to your natural color or a couple shades lighter or darker, I say save your money!

7. Urban Decay 24/7 Perversion Eyeliner, $19

If you're looking looking for the darkest of black eyeliners, I would highly recommend UD's eyeliner in Perversion. This literally just glides right onto your lash line or water line. My eyes are highly prone to watering and so I have had some smudging from this, but I blame it on my annoying watery allergy eyes.

8. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, $29

I haven't been leaving the house without this. This is the best setting spray! Spray a few sprays of this over your makeup after your makeup is completed and it will not budge. This holds up to my runny noses, sneezing, watery eyes, and constant running around. I absolutely love this stuff!!! Again, this is pricey, but I had started out with the travel size of this which lasted months and months. I had bought the big bottle of this as a backup and only recently had to even open that box. A few sprays and you're set all day and all night!

Yours in Beauty and Friday Favorites,

  1. All of these products sound really amazing! NARS is my favourite makeup brand, and I've been wanting to try the illuminator. The Urban Decay setting spray is one of my all time favourite beauty products. I love it so much! Amazing product descriptions!

  2. I love NARS too! I was so glad I got this deluxe sized sample as part of a Sephora VIB gift with purchase because I had been dying to try it. I've been wearing it nearly daily since I got it. I have other liquid illuminators, but this is by far my fave. You can wear alone or top with almost any blush. I highly recommend it. Thanks for your nice comment!

  3. Very cute post Jessica! I got so much in the mail in the last few days but haven't been able to bring myself to try any of it because I've been feeling so under the weather. Something about morning sickness just makes me want to hole up with no makeup on! -Justina
