Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

We were recently given the opportunity to try a great, affordable product.  Dry shampoo!  Between the both of us we have tried at least 5 brands of dry shampoo, and we can attest that this one by Batiste is both high in quality and high in value.

So...what is dry shampoo?  Essentially, the purpose of dry shampoo is to refresh your hair anytime, anywhere, without the use of water, or the need for a full on shower.  For those of us who don't wash our hair everyday, it's perfect to keep the oil at bay, and keep hair looking fabulous.  Girls with bangs also love dry shampoo, because when you have fringe, it's the first thing to start looking greasy, before the rest of your hair.  So what if you don't have bangs and you wash your hair everyday?  Is dry shampoo something you can use?  Of course!  I also think it's wonderful for refreshing after the gym.  Have you ever woken up late for work, and not had a choice but have to run out the door, sans shower?  Well there you go!  There are so many uses for dry shampoo!

We were given two products from the Batiste Line to try out- the Batiste Fresh scent and the Batiste Blush scent.  The products we received came in 5.05 fl. oz. and 1.6 fl. oz.  I was not able to find a price for the 5.05 fl. oz. size, and Batiste's website, www.batistehair.com only had 2 formulations.

Here are some additional scents and sizes I found at www.dermstore.com:
6.73 fl. oz. retails for $8.99
1.6 f. oz. retails for $3.99

By the way, do you like a good deal?  If so, and you subscribe to MyGlam your March bag should've had a coupon for $25 off a $50 purchase.  If not, leave your email address in the comments section we will send you a DermStore coupon for $10 off a $30 purchase.  DermStore stocks lots of the Batiste dry shampoos, as well as other products.

How do you use dry shampoo? I checked out their website, www.batistehair.com and was able to find a great step by step. They hit it right on the head the best way to apply this product. Be careful (especially if you don't have blonde or white hair) not to get the nozzle too close to your scalp, or you will be brushing for a while to get the white residue out of your hair.

STEP 1

Separate hair into 1.5 inch sections and spray all over holding can approximately 2 inches away, from root to tip.

STEP 2
USE FINGERS TO LIFT AND SEPARATE HAIR AS YOU SPRAY.

STEP 3
MASSAGE INTO YOUR SCALP, WORKING THE PRODUCT RIGHT INTO THE ROOTS.   LEAVE FOR A MINUTE OR TWO, THEN GENTLY BRUSH OUT.  THAT'S IT!

So...here's what we think:

Jessica's Hair: Last shampoo 3 days ago!!! (I know, gross, but its in the spirit of product reviews!)

Jessica's Review: After 3 days, my hair is just starting to look and feel a tiny bit oily. I feel I could even get a 4th day out of the Batiste dry shampoo. I have naturally curly hair and so often times during the work week I will straighten my hair and try to get the most days out of that 1 straightening. This product is certainly going to help with that!
Day 4, still looking soft and shiny

I used both the Fresh original scent and the Blush. I would say I prefer the Fresh original scent, but both are nice. They are light and clean smelling. This really does absorb the oil out of your hair and leaves your hair so shiny and soft. I am extremely impressed with this product and will definitely be switching to Batiste as my go to dry shampoo!

Yours in Beauty and Dry Shampoos,
Jessica
