Shopping and Deals in Wenatchee, WA

Hello my pretties!

I've been having a great day today.  I woke up after sleeping in and having the strangest dream ever.  My husband was at his job interview in our hotel lobby.  I didn't realize they were in the lobby, and when I went down in my jammies to eat breakfast there they were!  He did a great job and I'm really proud of him.  Now, we wait.

Today was a really exciting day!  I am going to post a look next on what I did with my face today.  I will post it under "Winter Bronze Look" so keep on the look out!

Today, I wanted to get a really good feel for what this town was all about.  There are lots of drugstores and convenient stores here, which was really exciting for me.  Lots of competition= cheaper products and more sales.  There is a Rite Aid here that sells stuff for about the same price as our stores in La Crosse, PLUS they had lots of products at 75% off.  Also, the Walgreens here sells Milani, which is awesome because I am a big fan of their baked products and infinite liquid eyeliner.  If you haven't tried them yet, you must!

The picture seriously doesn't do this shade justice, it's actually a little darker than pictured and extremely shimmery.  I would love to pick one of these up!

Absolutely gorgeous blush color!

My saving grace this trip has been the Mai Couture Blotting Papers that I received in my December My Glam bag.  I have been using them constantly and would definitely repurchase these.  I'm not the kind of person who considers herself oily, but these really just take away any excess moisture and make your skin feel great.  I thought I heard somewhere they had salicylic acid (on AndreasChoice Youtube Channel maybe?) but I didn't see anything about it on their website.  Anyhow, Jessica got these in her MyGlam bag too.  How do you like them Jess?

We went to Leavenworth, WA today, which is about 20 minutes away from Wenatchee, WA (where we are staying).  It is like a Christmas village on steroids!  It is so adorable!  The views of the mountains are amazing.  It's like nestled in the middle of a bunch of really high mountains...so in other words its a valley!  LOL I was thinking, wow this town is going to have really gimmicky shopping, but WOW was I wrong.  That town has great shopping!  There is a really amazing store called JT Blu and it reminds me a lot of my favorite store in La Crosse, which is FUNK.  This store is about 5 times as big and everything is really inexpensive.  OMG I was so in love.  Mike was so happy I liked it that he even bought me a beautiful pair of earrings.  What a sweetie!  I am so lucky.  They also have really adorable fudge shops and other shops that sell really cool stuff.  I could totally see myself visiting that town a ton.  Very cute!
 Leavenworth, WA!

Look at those mountains!  And my sweetie :-)

This was like 1/20th of their jewelry selection.  All of it was very unique, beautifully packaged, and between $14-30.  I love how high quality it was.  What a lovely shop!

This was the clothes section of one of their three parts of the store!  Whoa!

PS.  Leavenworth's boutique JT Blu has a website, www.leavenworthboutique.com.  It doesn't seem to be up yet, but it was on their business card they gave me, so hopefully they will launch it soon.  Keep an eye out, you'll all seriously love this store.  Great clothes, accessories, perfumes, and everything we all love!  Even lip gloss!

The mall in this town is OK.  There are a few chain stores like Macy's and JC Penny so that's nice.  Macy's has the same cosmetic counters as La Crosse- Estee Lauder, Clinique, and Lancome.  I was hoping they had at least that many counters, because if we end up moving here, I need to make sure I can get affordable makeup!  My fear was that they'd only have Chanel or something.  Or none at all- eek!  There are also a lot of shoe stores and stuff like that and stuff that would normally be expensive in my town is pretty affordable here.  Totally rockin'!

Butter London is in all the boutiques here.  JT Blu had it for $14 and the airport had it for $18.  Have any of you tried the brand?  Is it better than any other brand?  The colors are really pigmented and beautiful but I don't think I can justify it!

Other random things:

  • I will have a box from MyGlam, Birchbox, Beauty Army, and Sephora when I get home.  The ONLY reason to be excited to go home right now!  I had my mail held, because I know if I didn't Jessica might choose to "house sit" for me and try all my stuff before I get home LOL
  • After all that packing, I forgot face wash.  I exfoliated with Mike's stuff he brought last night.  Can you believe my hubby remembered HIS Clinique exfoliator and I didn't?  I've trained him well :-)  And I bought some face soap today.
  • I got Jessica a souvenir today and I can't flippin wait to give it to her!  Here's a hint: it's something that you use EVERY DAY!  And it helps you look great  :-)  Bummer, guess I can't use it in a look while I'm here or she'll know.  Haha, she knows all my makeup!
  • I had a huge pimple on my chin sprout up yesterday.  Like a crater one that's an inch below the skin and the more you pinch it the deeper it goes.  I steeped some tea from the hotel in a cup and dissolved an Advil in it and used the solution in a cotton ball on my face, then blotted it dry.  It felt SO good.
  • I LOVED Jessica's video she posted on Birchbox for January.  It was so funny!  Doesn't she do the best videos?  Show her some love!  <3 <3
  • I miss my little man  :-(  But I know my momma is giving him lots of belly rubs.

Yours in Beauty, Justina
