My Eyebrows Little Secret :)

 Brows Before
Brows After

The Product
ybf: your best friend

The color is universal taupe. Meaning, this can work on everyone. Depending on how hard or light your press, this will work for blondes, red heads, brunettes, or really dark hair. 10 million of these have been sold over the past 14 years.

I will be honest that at first I wasn't too keen on it, but that was because I didn't know how to apply it correctly. I then watched a video of Stacey Schieffelin, the founder and former model, apply this product. I will show you step by step how to apply this correctly. When applied correctly, it will blend in with your real hair, looking very natural. Your eyebrows shape your entire face and you will be surprised at how different you look just by lining in your brows. This will lift the entire eye area and make eyes appear larger.

Step One: Line the pencil up with your inner eye. This is where your brow should start. Make a mark with the pencil

Step Two: Line the pencil up with the outer edge of the iris of your eye and make a mark.
(whoops I noticed later, I am a little further out on this, but just play with it so you are happy with the end result, which I was...see ybf instructional picture below)
Step Three: Line the pencil with the outer corner of your eye and make a mark. The bottom should stay touching your nose. Do what I say, not what I do :)
These marks will allow you to then fill in the brow with this shape. The brow should not go past the third mark.

Play around with this to get the shape and look you are comfortable with.
I had just started filling in my brows months ago. I have decent sized brows with not too many bare patches, but I was still amazed at the transformative effect this has. It may take some getting use to and at first you may feel it is too dark or too dramatic. I would suggest looking at yourself in a mirror further away to get the full effect this can truly have on shaping and defining your face. Start out lightly or filling your brow in less until you get to a point you are comfortable with. The key is to make this look natural.

Fill in the brow with light strokes and lightly blend in with the brush on this dual sided pencil. Although this pencil has great staying power, if you applied it too dark or applied it to low or high, it is very easy to just wipe away that little oops with your finger. For the brush end, I like to kind of blend it in in circular motions and comb it through. Bushy eyebrows are in this season too!

Look at the difference when only one eye brow is penciled in. Look how this defines my face and makes my eye appear more lifted and larger.

*This product was sent to me by ybf to review, but that does not influence my opinion. As you can visibly see, this product works and there is a reason 10 million have been sold!*

What do you think? Have you tried this product? Do you line your eyebrows and what do you use?

(Heres a couple more updated pictures from this week with my brows filled in with the ybf pencil)

  1. Great post, question, what do you consider to be the "outer corner" of the eye? You lined the pencil up past the outer corner.

  2. It should be directly diagonal to the very outer edge of your eye. I will add in another pic to clarify. Thanks for the question!

  3. I should add that if you go too far for the 3rd step you can easily wipe away with your finger. I see it does look like I drew the dot a little too far, but when I actually filled in the brow, the tip of the brow is directly diagonal to the outer corner of the eye.
