New Year's Day Beauty Hangover Solutions

Happy New Years!!!!!
If you're anything like me today, you probably feel like garbage, and it's 4 pm and you're just waking up, inching out of bed, think you're possibly on your deathbed, and all you need is something greasy to eat before you retreat back to bed.  This is where I come in!  I'm here to help.

Here's what you are probably suffering from- a bad hangover, body aches and pains from all that dancing, and bad skin.  Didn't wash your face last night did you?  Tsk tsk.

Here's what you need to do:
1.  Wash your face with your cleansing brush.  If you don't have one, use an exfoliating scrub.  Take your sweet time on this, especially if you didn't wash your face last night.  You will feel much better.

2.  Do a steam facial with Vick's Vapo Rub.  This is one of the many reasons I love Jessica's mom- she has an awesome cure-all for every ailment.  This one she told me about when I was sick with an awful sinus infection but it's great for hangovers too.  Basically, boil water in a pot on the stove/grab a seat at the table and set the pot in front of you/take a knife and cover it in Vick's Vapo Rub then balance it across the top of the pot/find a large towel and drape it over your head and the pot/breathe in the vapors

Best steam facial you will ever have!  Just don't fall asleep and burn your face in scalding water!

3.  Thoroughly brush your teeth.  And I mean the kind of brushing where you sing Happy Birthday in your head 2-3 times and hit every nook and cranny.  Follow with a great flossing session.

4.  Take a fantastic shower.  This is probably not a good time to try a half bath for the first time.  Take a wonderful shower where you use every bath product you have.  Shampoo, condition, use a hair mask, anything you have, use.

5.  Use some body oil spray when you're out of your shower.  It's like applying lotion all over except it's good for lazy people.  Spraying yourself is so much easier than bending down and applying lotion to your legs.  Especially if you're hung over.

6.  Perfume.  Maybe not the best day for this if you're not feeling so hot.

7.  Find a tennis ball.  Put it on the ground, and roll around on your back on it.  It feels excellent and will get out most of your knots in your back.  Do this on your feet too.  If you have someone in your life who loves you enough to give you a foot rub, this is a good time to use and abuse that privilege.

8.  Find all the ingredients for a salad.  (I know, I know, you're thinking hangover food is not a salad you crazy woman!!!)  Get the lettuce, the croutons, and the dressing.  Do you have avocado?  Add it.  Do you have bacon bits? Add it.  Add everything to the salad you can find. Fried chicken?  Add.  My favorite thing to add? French fried onions.  Best Hangover Salad Ever.  My second favorite hangover breakfast/lunch/supper is an egg salad sandwich.

9.  I hope for your sake you have nowhere to be, but if you have to do something or be somewhere, take an especially long time on your makeup.  If you can go to your local mall, and it has a Sephora, this is a spectacular choice.  Use all the $100+ products on your face.  Use their fancy face creams.  Try their $50 eyeliner. You will feel so much better about yourself.

Happy New Years!  Hope this is helping your life a little today.

Yours in Beauty, Justina and Jessica.
