My nightly routine!

Hello all!

Tonight I took a few pictures to show you what my nightly skin routine is...this is what I've been doing lately when my skin has been behaving!  Feel free to ask any questions you want, and I'd be happy to answer.  Also, my skin routine changes often, so I'll be sure to post when I have some other routine going.  Enjoy!

My super cute sign that I got last year from a cutesy little shop!  What product brand's logo does this remind you of?

Ok- first thing I did was use my eye makeup remover to take my eye makeup off.  I've said this before, but I'm not too picky about what I use here...I have several products I like, Boots No7, Clinique, Lancome, Vaseline, etc. Tonight I used Lancome.

Next I used Clinique's Facial Soap Mild on my whole face.  I didn't use any exfoliator tonight.  One thing I like to do is listen to my face...some nights my skin feels like it really needs to be scrubbed, and other nights my skin feels great after using a mild cleanser.  Tonight it felt great so I stopped.  Another example of listening to my skin would be in the summer I often feel that my face doesn't need a moisturizer or if it does I usually just use a tinted moisturizer.  I also don't use eye cream every night, just when my skin feels like it needs an extra something.
Next, I used my Boots Damask Rose Skin Tonic. Here's my icky cotton ball!  Yuck, my face was still dirty but I'm still glad I didn't exfoliate because I didn't need it.  By the way, when you cleanse and tone you need to remember to get the product off your neck area.  I often put some bronzer there and forget to rinse it off, so it's stuck on there until I shower next.  That can really age your skin!

Ewwwww!
Next, I got MORE eye makeup off with a cotton ball.  I often take my eye makeup off a second time after washing my face, because it starts running and I see that I didn't get it all.

All clean!  Now it's time for some serum.  My biggest issue lately has been hydration.  This is Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Serum.  Under $10 at Target, and it works great!

I applied a small amount of Clean & Clear moisturizer.  This stuff was very inexpensive.  It doesn't do a whole lot for my skin besides add moisture- like it doesn't prevent wrinkles, correct dark spots, etc, but that's ok!  Sometimes we just want a really light, oil-free moisture on the face.  I should also tell you that any time I add a serum to my face I always "seal" it with a moisturizer.  I learned this when I was working at the Estee Lauder counter.

I haven't done a lip buffer in a while, so I did one by C.O Bigelow.  This has a great minty fresh tingle, and it leaves my lips feeling like I'm already wearing lip balm.  It feels great, and is a little gritty.  Sometimes when my lips are really parched I skip this step, because when they're already chapped sanding them just makes them more tender.  But I definitely wanted to slough some off and it worked great.  I ALWAYS use this stuff plus lip balm if I plan to wear a red lip the next day!

This is an awesome moisture mask and it reminds me of Moisture  Surge by Clinique, except for WAY cheaper.  I really love this stuff...I probably didn't NEED more moisture, but while I was on my moisture serum kick, I thought...eh why not?!

Everyone on here knows how much I love my precious vaseline. This is the little container I keep it in.  I got two of these little guys from Walmart for $1.  I keep the rest of my enormous tub of Vaseline in the closet, and this I keep on hand.  Obviously you know where I used it!  I put this on my lashes and on my eyebrows.  Grow, little babies, grow!  Oh yeah, and I also put it on my lips as a balm.  It felt sooo good!

While Vaseline-ing my lips I took a little glance at my above the toilet thing-y.  (You know that storage thing that goes above and behind the potty?  I looked at my little Kneipp's Herbal Bath dealio that I got from my testtube.  When am I going to take my half bath?  My mom suggested the reason why it restores "balance" to your life is because since you're wearing half your clothes in the bath, you have to sit special to make sure not to get them wet.

Lastly, I used my L'Oreal Everstrong Sulfate Free Overnight treatment on my hair.  I love this stuff.  I do feel that this has been helping my hair become stronger.  I love sulfate free products!  If you've never tried them you must!  I have been putting this on my hair since I bought it a few weeks ago and it is great!

Here I am all ready for jammies!  Another thing I wanted to share with everyone...I wash my hands like a bazillion times before bed every night.  Why?  A lot of it is because I wear contacts and have to touch my eye to get them out.  I always wash with soap and water and make sure to dry my hands thoroughly.  Then I check to make sure that I don't have dog hair on my hands or little fuzzies of any kind from the towel.  Yes, Ruckus's hair gets on EVERYTHING even the clean towels at our house!

I also never want to put product in my hair and then touch my face or eyes.  A lot of oils and other things that have no  place on your face are in hair products, and I just like to keep that off my face!  I don't know if you've ever touched your eye for contacts after having had your hands in your face or hair products, but that can really sting too!

I would love to see Jessica's nightly routine too!  Leave a comment and let's send her some pressure to post!  Also, I promise to repost my new routine once my skin changes again...I have very combination skin so I'm sure it's a matter of time before I break out or something.  Yikes, I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

Yours in Beauty, Justina
