I got my allure magazine in the mail today and was loving the look of Lea Michele on the cover. This is my attempt to re-create this look even though we do not share any similar features or coloring! :)
Here is how to get Lea's look according to Allure:
- Mix a sheer foundation with moisturizer
- Apply multiple coats of black mascara and paint black liquid liner on lash lines to create winged cat eye, they used LineExact in Very Black by Covergirl
- Sweep a bronze blush on cheekbones, they used Covergirl cheekers in Cappuccino
- Dab of lipbalm, they used NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Tulip by Covergirl
- The hair was inspired by 1950s Italian Cinema. They blow dried her natural curls with a diffiuser, used a 1/2 inch mini curling iron to set one and a half inch sections of hair so it would fall in full soft waves
- She wore a stretch white poplin dress
Here is how I got my look:
- I used Estee Lauder double wear light in 01 with Bareminerals face primer in brightening
- I applied Hard Candy Fox in a Box blush in Truth or Dare to mimic their bronze blush idea. This Hard Candy blush is $6 and you sweep the pink and the bronzed brown color together for the perfect touch of bronzed pinkness. I also applied some Palladio bronzer underneath my cheeks/in the hollow area underneath my cheeks. You can get Palladio products at Sally's Beauty.
- I brushed my eyebrows upwards like Lea's are and applied Clinique Chocolate eyeshadow to get darker brows like she has.
- I lined my upper lash line with NYC black liquid liner and topped this/filled this in with a pencil liner, Make up forever black liner and lined my lower lash line. I made the lower lash line lighter as it went into the inner corner of my eye.
- I brought this out to a wing (not my specialty, I will admit that, especially with allergy eyes).
- Since you can only see the liner and not a shadow on the lid, I made sure to color in the visible part of my lid with my eyes in this position with the black liner. This is why it is a good idea to pair this with a very soft lip.
- For the lip I used Clinique lipstick in Blushing Coral and topped with Benefit's gloss in Foxy Lady. This was the closest lip dupe I had for her look, I don't have many matte/balm pinks like she has on.
- My hair is naturally curly and I had it in braids, so i just sprayed some hair spray and fluffed it up to mimic her full wavy hair style.
.....now if only I could learn to sing like her!
