Sugar Plum Fairies: Purple Eye Look :)

I got a new Wet n Wild Palette at Kmart for $2.99 and it inspired me to create this purple sugar plum eye look. I feel like a lot of my looks lately have focused more on drugstore brands, but when I go to create a look, they have been the palettes lately that have been inspiring me. This goes to show you don't have to spend a lot to create a create eye look. Purple eyes look great on pretty much anyone, but if you have green eyes like me, this will really make them pop!

The look:
Dark dramatic eyes, soft pink lip, hair swept back, paired with greys, pinks, peaches and golds.

The eyes have it:

The accessories & the clothes:
  • Paired this makeup look with a grey tie sweater and my favorite dark skinny jeans.
  • Sweater is from Maurices ($39), Jeans are from Macys
  • I wore a long lacy white tank top underneath so the lace was showing a little bit below the sweater
  • Paired with nude kitten heel from Shoedazzle. Sign up here.
  • Wore funky Lucky Brand necklace.

The product & instructions:
Wet n Wild Palette in 248 Lust ($2.99 on sale at Kmart)
  1. Prime your eyes. I used Urban Decay eye primer
  2. I used Stila One Step in kitten as a face primer. Add your foundation/powder. I used all bareMinerals products including my powder in fairly light, mineral veil all over, and well rested around my eye areas.
  3. With an eye shadow brush, apply color #1 all over the lid and up to the brow
  4. With an eye shadow brush, apply color #2 all over the lid starting at the lash line and moving upward. Basically pick up color with your brush and lightly pat this onto the lid area
  5. Using a crease or contour brush, apply color #3 into the crease and outer V area of the lid, blend in
  6. If you have applied too much or it is too dark of a look for you, blend in more with your finger
  7. Using the applicator that comes with, apply color #6 into the outer crease to add some shimmer
  8. Line your lower lash line with color #6 using an eye liner brush
  9. Apply a light color into the inner V area of your eye and blend this in to the inner V area of the eye. Color #4 would work well for this, but I used Stila's kitten to add some shimmer. I also brought this up to the brow and blended this in with some of the purples in areas it may have been too dark or not blended well enough
  10. Apply liquid black liner to your top lash
  11. Apply black liner to your bottom water line
  12. Apply your favorite mascara, I used Dior Show
  13. Apply subtle blush, I used elf blush in Pink Passion which is a pretty bright pink color, I applied this lightly with a blush brush
  14. Apply a nude or light pink lip. I used Wet n Wild in 547B which is a great lipstick for 99 cents
  15. I then applied makeup setting spray. I use Urban Decay All Nighter. My makeup didn't budge all night. I highly recommend this.
And there you go, you have the look of having your makeup done magically by little sugar plum fairies!

Happy Sunday!
