Pretty in Pink

Here is an easy everyday Pretty in Pink look. I mixed in some golds or used pink with gold shimmer products since those colors pair well together. Every woman should have a basic pink look in her arsenal. This is a bright, pretty, soft, feminine look that is easy to do. This is a great look for any season or any event.

The look:

The eyes:

The accessories & finishing touches:
Pair this look with your favorite pink inspired earrings. These are from Wet Seal.
Add in a pink cardigan for an added soft feminine touch, from Old Navy

The products:

Clockwise starting at bottom: Nars blush in orgasm, Maybelline eyestudio 10 Mad for Mauve, Clinique  eye quad (lucky penny is the furthest color to the right), Maybelline creme quad in 104 Purple Radiance (used the pink color shown on in the picture on the right)

The instructions:
  • Apply an eye shadow base. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion.
  • Apply a soft pink color all over your lid. I used Urban Decay creme shadow in Midnight Rodeo and layered powder Clinique Lucky Penny eye shadow over top with an eye shadow brush. Lucky penny is a pretty pink color with some bronze in it, hence the name.
Upper left corner is a swatch of the Urban Decay, Midnight Rodeo. I will be reviewing all of these UDcream shadows soon, comment if you want to know the colors.
  • I then applied the pink in the Maybelline Mad for Mauve Palette (furthest to the left as shown in "products" above) on the crease and blended upwards to blend in all colors and used as a soft highlighter
  • I then applied Maybelline pink creme shadow in 104 Purple Radiance (as shown in "products" above) in the outer crease and outer V of the eye and blended in with my finger
  • Top to Bottom: Clinique Lucky Penny, Maybelline Eye Studio Mad for Mauve Quad, Maybelline Eye Studio Cream Purple Radiance
  • I then used Benefit's High Beam in the inner V of my eye, bridge of my nose, brow bone, and cheek bone and rubbed in as a highlighter. This will make the light reflect off of these areas more. Ie: put in the areas you want to highlight! You put the darker contour shades in the areas of your face you want to make to appear smaller or more sunken in to contour your face more.
  • For my face I applied NARS blush in Orgasm, and used Palladio Rice Powder as a finishing powder
  • For lips I used Elf conditioning lip balm in Peaceful Pink and topped with a gloss, Benefit's nudie-tude which I have swatched in prior blogs.
  • For eyelashes, I used L'oreal voluminous False Lashes Waterproof mascara.
  • I lined my my lower lashes with my go to black liner, Makeup For Ever Aqua Eyes and underneath this which was used on the water line, I applied Sephora jumbo liner in Gold to the lash line.
  • I then brought this gold up to the outer V of my eye. I blended this in with the pinks and made a more pronounced golden V on the outer corner of my eye.
Some pretty in pink lip sticks: light pinks:

Left to Right: 1) Revlon Lip Butter 025 Peach Parfait, 2) Revlon Lip Butter 005 Sugar Frosting,
 3) Maybelline Color Sensation 0115 Born With It (one of my faves), 4) Clinique 112 Blushing Coral,
 5) Wet N Wild 502A, 6) Sinful Colors 2232 Creamsicle Cream, 7) Clinique 10 Air Kiss gloss

So enjoy being pretty in pink!

Justina's 2 cents:
I just love Jessica's lovely take on the pink and gold trend.  If you look around at the mall or online at makeup or jewelry you will see that pinks, and golds, and rose golds are popular in everything fashion this season.

I did a cute look with rose golds on the eye area tonight too!  Here is what I used!

I used Lancome's Color Sensation eyeshadows in Makeover (a bright pink) on the lid, and Pose (a bright gold) on the crease.

I'm loving this look for this time of year.  It's a different take on the neutral eye, which we usually see in different shades of brown and beige.  It's natural, yet glamorous.

A word to the wise- if you are having a bad skin day, where you have red patchy dry spots, or acne, that is probably not a good day to be trying out this look!  The pink can really bring out the ruddiness in your complexion.
