Annalynne McCord inspired hair & makeup: How to make your eyes POP!

This is an inspired by post. Meaning I am not trying to recreate her exact look, but am trying to get the desired effect of highlighting your eyes.

What is the look?
  • Messy curly/wavy hair with high volume in the front
  • Fair glowing complexion
  • Lining your lower lash with eyeshadow to make your eyes pop
  • Nude lip
  • Pair this with silvers and blues (jewelry and clothing)
Here is my recreation:

The eyes:

The hair:

  • If you don't have curly hair, curl your hair in a mixture of small curls and bigger curls and run your hands through it, breaking up the curls for a messier look
  • I have naturally curly hair, so basically I just pulled some curls loose. Meaning I grabbed a curl and pulled it down to straighten it out a bit while still maintaining a wave. I then took a large barrel curling iron to give my curly ends a bit of a straitening out or wavier look
  • I used SAMY twisted curl defining spray to give my curls an extra boost, ran my hands under water, and scrunched my hair to give it some new life as this was done at night time
  • The key to this is big volume at the hair line. I used a root booster by TIGI Catwalk called Your Highness and sprayed this into my roots.
  • Hairspray the back pieces to give them more volume
  • Work this product into your scalp with your fingers
  • Pin certain pieces of hair down, but work some out with your fingers for a messier look
  • A good way to get more volume is tip your head upside down, work your fingers into your roots and flip your head back up
  • Finish with hairspray, I used TIGI Rockaholic
  • I can't wait until my hair is as long as hers!
The products:

The instructions:
  • Put your foundation of choice on, I used Hard Candy Glamoflogue heavy duty concealer
  • Apply blush I used Maybelline Dream Mouse in Peach Satin
  • Apply eye primer, I use Palladio
  • Line entire lid with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese (white color)
  • Use your eyelash brush (1st of the brushes pictures), mine is Eco tools and pat on color onto your lid. I used an Almay trios palette which is furthest on the left. It is called "Trio for Greens". I used the bottom most color on the lid
  • Using a crease bush (2nd one pictured), mine is Elf Studio line, put the 2nd darker color into the crease and blend into the lid a little
  • Use the top most color to blend any harsh lines and bring this color up to the eyebrow, also put a little in the inner V of your eye to brighten up this area, making a U or C shape
  • Using your liner brush (3rd one pictured), take this same color and line your bottom lash line with it
  • Line your water line with Makeup Forever aqua eyes in black
  • Mascara used was Loreal Voluminious False Lashes
  • Use a finishing powder, I use Palladio Rice Powder in natural
  • Use a neutral lipstick. I don't have many neutrals, but I used Merle Normal "Modern Princess" and topped it with Benefit Cosmetics lip gloss in nudie-tude which brought this more into the realm of a nude
  • Spray makeup setting spray, I use Urban Decay All Nighter
And WAAAA LAAAAA you are done and now look like Annalynne McCord (I wish, right!?)
